By now you know me.
For the last eight years on the Sebastopol City Council, I’ve demonstrated commitment to our values, utilized my deep knowledge of the issues, and applied my broad experience to finding solutions to our toughest challenges.
I am running for a third term because our city needs a path forward that deals with our immediate issues and sets us on a solid path toward financial stability that will help us continue to build a thriving, healthy Sebastopol.
As a fourth generation Sonoma County resident, I have first-hand experience with the changes in our community that have made finding affordable housing, securing a decent paying job, or managing a family business increasingly difficult. For most of my professional life, I’ve been a working mom who raised two children through local public schools while employed in radio station management, news media, and as the executive director and licensed administrator of an assisted living facility serving residents with dementia. This experience has been invaluable to address our community’s range of challenges with deep compassion and a vision for the future of a sustainable Sebastopol.
Working full time while being an active council member takes commitment. Serving twice as Mayor and Vice Mayor and on multiple regional boards has been challenging and rewarding.
When I first ran for City Council in 2016 with no experience as an elected official, I often had to introduce myself by explaining that my name “rhymes with Lisa.” I could not have imagined our community would soon face multiple natural disasters including the Laguna flooding, wildfires and city-wide evacuations, Covid-19 shutdowns; or deal with failing water and sewer lines, a fire department consolidation, and unhoused families seeking refuge in campers and tents in our city and all over California.
But now you know me. And you know where I stand and why.
In the face of the series of crisis we’ve experienced and our current budget challenges, our community has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to to our core values and finding a way forward with common sense solutions.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve you. With your support, I hope to continue to serve you in a third term so that, together, we can continue to build a thriving Sebastopol.
